SpaceX, the company led by Elon Musk had a majorly successful publicity stunt yesterday with the launch of the Falcon Heavy rocket. It is allegedly the most powerful successful rocket of all time, and following the launch, two out of the three boosters had successful vertical landings.
Now this is incredible: a Tesla car is now “driving” in space with a mannequin in the driver’s seat. It was the rocket’s payload, and with Earth in the background, this video was recovered from it. The car is orbiting Earth to the tune of Starman, by David Bowie.
The car that was in the rocket’s payload was originally planned to go to Mars, but here it is in orbit around Earth.
Live across the world, this launch was streamed.

Little messages and funny details about the launch are there to be found by any person paying attention, serving as an impeccable publicity stunt for Elon Musk and SpaceX.
A “DON’T PANIC” sign on the dashboard of the car is a cheeky way of informing the non-human passenger that the car will have to pass through the asteroid belt before it gets to Mars.

Elon Musk put a “hidden message” aboard this space car. It is presented in a joking type of manner, but if extraterrestrials ever discover the car, they will find this message. Elon Musk revealed the message on Instagram.
It reads “Made on Earth by humans” in a hidden spot of the car, within the circuit board. That means that something really intelligent would have to take the car apart to read the message. It is said that for millions or even billions of years this car might float through space.
They say this might be the most “confusing” message humans have ever sent into space. It’s a car with a f**king mannequin driver: it makes no sense unless you have humor.
So hopefully aliens have a sense of humor.
